SLI Rig of the Month
Full Name: John Mangus
Country: USA
City/State: Stoystown, PA
Handle: Maxprime

Transformer PC: It’s more than meets the eye.

John submitted his PC project inspired by the cartoon and recent movie, Transformers. His rig takes the form of Optimus Prime and can be one of the cooler (and bigger) rigs around. Though it isn’t his first DIY PC project, John put a lot of time, sweat, and passion into the creation of this masterpiece. Congrats John on a job well done! We asked John a few questions about his Optimus Prime PC mod and here’s what he had to say:

What makes this mod so special?

"Well, first of all it's almost 6' 11"in transport mode and transforms into a desktop mode. Hey, it's Optimus Prime!"

Which is better…The new Transformers movie, or the old animated show?

That is a hard one. I liked both. I only wished they would have used the Gen 1 body styles. But, at least Optimus doesn't die in the first 15 minutes of the movie this time.

What was the biggest challenge he faced in building this mod?

"To be honest, knowing when to quit adding stuff to it and also knowing when to stop staring at it."

Will it be his last mod?

"No, I have lots of ideas that I want to make into mods."
